Resident Evil Horror

PS3NEWS have posted up their interview with Ben Le Rougetel, head of communications of Capcom Europe, about a few questions on the up-coming title. Not much new information was said other than that the game will have a mix of horror elements from previous titles and also adding tension on you having to rely on your partner other than yourself to survive, and promising that there will be 4 control layouts for the player's choice on playing the game that makes them feel most comfortable. Gametrailers has posted an exclusive clip from the film showing the G-Type monster.

Eurogamer has posted their hands-on with the game with a few details including the official drop date of the demo being announced soon. Average time for a playthrough is pegged around 20 hours. Resident Evil 5 has the same amount of puzzles as Resident Evil 4.

IGN has posted up the first 8 minutes off Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Takeuchi reveals the virus is an advanced form of Las Plagas. Resident Evil 5 is actually a little shorter than Resident Evil 4. There are some new screens as well.

Play-Asia is offering various Blu-ray versions of Resident Evil: Degeneration for pre-order.

Resident Evil: Degeneration Blu-ray (US)

Biohazard: Degeneration Blu-ray (JPN)

Biohazard: Degeneration Blu-ray Box (JPN, including "G" figurine)

Biohazard: Degeneration Official Soundtrack (CD and DVD)

The japanese versions (including the OST) are to be released on December 17th 2008 while the US blu-ray version will be available on December 30th 2008.

The blue-ray box is limited to 5000 pieces only.

According to GameFront, Capcom plans to sell 3,25 million copies of Resident Evil/Biohazard 5 worldwide.

Also, japanese magazine Famitsu asked 1000 visitors at the Tokyo Game Show about their opinion of the show itself and the games being shown.

Capcom's Resident Evil 5 was the third best title at the show behind Monster Hunter 3 and Final Fantasy XIII. Capcom's booth even scored in #1 for the best booth of the show followed by SquareEnix and Microsoft.

Capcom's list of upcoming releases has Resident Evil 5 for PC being released at the same time as the console versions. Whilst not officially confirmed a PC release does look very likely.

Its a very interesting interview and Ken even confirms the old man to be Spencer!

Resident Evil 5 on PS3 will have some form of PlayStation Home functionality. Here's a short clip with Takeuchi explaining the details in japanese.

We've missed out a few news items over the past few days, some more, some less important. One item includes the hands-on preview of the Resident Evil 5 E³ demo BiohazardFrance put online here. Be sure to check it out as it covers the demo's content from a fan persepective.

There also was a Resident Evil 5 preview within the official australian PS3 magazine. The story mainly covers old news, despite a few tidbits i found more interesting:

- "Resident Evil 5 will "draw together many of the mysteries and strange story paths featured in the previous entries into the series."

- "What we would like to say to fans of the series to brush up on past Resident Evil games and know everything that is going on with the story, even Code Veronica. We can't say exactly why, but that might be one thing that they'll want to do before the game comes out!"
