August 2000 - December 2004

So you want to learn more about Resident Evil Horror's history...

reH was founded back in September 2000 by me (DaMa). I was addicted to the RE series, so i wanted to have my own Resident Evil fan page. Soon i got into webdesign, graphics design etc. very well and i made alot of different versions. Visitors wise it also got better and better. After one year reH was a well known Resident Evil site with about 600 unique visitors/day. Of course i had some drie and sad periodes too, like the dissapearing of a good staff member, aswell as minor quarells with some other RE webmasters. This even made me closing down reH. I went on holidays then and when i came back i just thought "Damn, why did i close it, its my life" So i opened reH again after 2 weeks of downtime (some people even didnt recognise it was away). I managed to get a japanese staff member, who did a very good job for reH. Sadly we got sepparated due to time purposes. Everything went well in 2002.

Beginning of Novemeber i sat down with my staff members and we talked about a new version. I made the layout, Metsä and Nuol re-wrote most of the content. This already was version 10 of the site and it was accepted by the fans greatly! Definitley the best version so far. This design lasted for 5 months. In late April 2003 i closed the site for a creative break. It got all boring for me, but still Metsä and i were planning the next version. It took us totally long to find the perfect mainpage, i had unique ideas we couldnt include, but still some made it into the final site. Also Colvin stepped into the reH team as a perfect man to bring us rare pictures and concept artworks. I wanted to create a second site in May 2003. A page about Konami`s Silent Hill series. Metsä helped me with graphics and i completed a design. Better than all reH versions togheter. But then we decided to just include this design into the next reH version instead of starting another huge project. The project was on ice for about 3 weeks. Another staff member joined in July 2002. After sending tons of news to my email adress every week i asked him if he wants to be a news poster at reH. He agreed and now he posts RE and RE related news with the synonym "William".

I continued working on the next version of reH with the design i usually planned to use for the Silent Hill site. It took me much more time to finnish this version than the previous ones. Not due to having problems, but i just wanted to make it more slowly. In previous versions i had bugs on alot pages. Shortly after having finnished version 12, i took a long unannounced break from reH and Resident Evil. After coming back, degaus decided to resign from the reH team. We both worked on version 12 of the site, i did design, he the graphics and i didn't want to have his graphics on the site without having ihm in the team anymore. So i decided to start again. But this time, completely from scratch. I fired the rest of the staff and only kept"my" excellent newswriterr William, who stumbled over reH in summer 2003. Well, starting in September it took me 2 months to completely overhaul reH with new texts, images, and of course, graphics and design. But at least its again done to 100% by only one person and thats me. 5 months after the launch of version 12, i had a really difficult time private. I thought if i go on with reH, then totally different (design wise). I was so sick of all these standard "menu-news-menu" sites, so i tried different layouts on each game sites. I think it worked out pretty well.

I was about to start doing reH with more people again, like my old friend degaus, who already was working at reH from 2002-2003 (graphics wise). Shortly after having the new layout online my computer couldnt handle the viruses and all the hardware problems anymore, so it just gave up. I then was out of internet. Some days later a friend of mine died. From that time on i didnt care about internet. I started to read books again. I just read, read and read all the time. I was able to get me a new comp. With internet access too, but since i didnt miss it, i didn't even go online for one second. Before my old comp screwed up, degaus and i already had an amazing layout up and running. After the crash i stopped to care. Actually i already gave up reH. When i had the new comp i started working on the site again. And after some time i contacted degaus again. Of course he was happy that nothing happend to me, like some forum members thought (and some hoped) as he told me. The site was in a good condition already. I wanted to add new content as much as possible and since i knew i cant do that alone, i recruited some real RE freaks. During development of the new site codenamed Spitfire i recruited [STARS]TyranT, Temp, and Bada$$. degaus was in the team already. We had numerous MSN meetings to talk about new stuff for reH. Everyone of us had great ideas. I invested some money to get some japanese guides, others wrote like hell. So we added content like hell, to get reH back to the top of RE fan sites. I finally realized that its more important to spend time on content than on superb layouts. Belive it or not, i did this layout within 2 hours, showed it degaus, we talked about graphics, he made them, i included them and design done in one day. After some great ideas, hours of writing and 50% more content compared to the previous version i think reH made it back to be a top site for the fans again. And thats what i wanted to achieve.
I showed the design to degaus and we talked about it. Something he was into and he came up with some great ideas, graphics wise. We managed to get a different layout, with more interactivity ( user wise) and also kept the simplicity of the site. Great work.

January 2005 - December 2005

We launched the new versiuon in late December 2004. With the release of RE4 in sight my visitor numbers exploded every day and in january 2005 the site had about 4500 unique visitors/ DAY!. These amazing numbers also showed me a huge problem. I didnt have enough traffic for all the visitors, so i came over my traffic limit and had to pay laods of extra money. I included Google Ad's and they worked out in the begninning pretty well. But after some time people forgot to support me by clicking the Ads and therefore i brought another Ad Sponsor to reH. BurstMedia. I started on version 17 in late March 2005. The first week in April was really though. degaus and i worked on the site all the time with no breaks.

The reH team tried to get even more content to reH and reach more publicum. With version 17 we where one step closer of being the ultimative Resident Evil site. The version 17 launched in late April 2005.

Since degaus will have to go to the army in January 2006 we decided to do another perfect layout change so the site doesnt get boring within 2006. It's a fact that i dont want to do a layout without degaus. We're simply a great team and the layout wouldnt reach the same quality without his superb graphics.

Therefore i started doing a layout in September, showed it to degaus and we optimized it with his GFX. It took us very long since we wanted to put as much graphical elemtns into it as possible. Also added to V18 is the ultimate Resident Evil Timeline written by long time staff member Ty.

Since October 2005 i will also be receiving all Capcom games for testing purpose which is a nice step towards the Resident Evil fanbase on the net.

I call V18 a normal layout update. It was released in December 2005.

During 2006 and 2007 it became very quiet. Capcom focused on promoting Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet. We used this time to optimize reHorror for search engines.

Let's see what the future holds for us.
